Tips for drivers:
- Drive in a defensive mode
- There are no left turns, only with arrow light where indicated or where you see an exit. If you are not sure, keep moving and follow the traffic.
- Right turns are not always continuous on red light; wait for your green light even if someone is pushing you.
- Prices on gas stations are in Pesos (About 10 to 1), of you have any troubles find someone bilingual to get help.
- In case of coalition, call the car rental company so they can reach the insurance company for you. Do not accept deals or money from anyone on the scene; wait for the car rental agent to arrive.
- Lock your car at all the time and don’t leave it on dark streets.
- The sides have colors, red means no parking, yellow means Taxis only, Blue means handicapped only.
- When going to/from the airport use the toll road; carry bills smaller then 20 usd or 200 pesos for this purpose. If you pay the toll in Pesos you will receive Pesos back, and so on with dollars.
- Use your seatbelts all the time.
